PT Voltage Switching Device
Dedicated secondary-circuit devices for reliable VT/PT voltage-source selection, transfer, paralleling, position-repeat, and status output in dual-busbar, sectionalized-busbar, and multi-PT power-system schemes.
Product Capability
A standardized PT secondary-voltage control platform that selects, transfers, parallels, and repeats voltage-source logic for protection, measurement, metering, synchronizing, and automation circuits.
-
Automatic PT source selection: selects the appropriate VT/PT secondary voltage source according to disconnector / isolator position signals in dual-busbar and related multi-source schemes.
-
Dual-busbar switching logic: supports automatic voltage transfer where protection, measurement, metering, or control devices must follow the busbar to which the primary circuit is connected.
-
Single-position and double-position logic options: GRUS-11G can be configured around different isolator-position feedback philosophies to match project drawings and operating practices.
-
PT paralleling and repeat functions: dedicated RUS configurations support PT secondary paralleling, isolator-position repeat, and multi-contact status expansion for auxiliary circuits.
-
Status and alarm outputs: provides auxiliary contacts for operating-state indication and, where configured, VT/PT voltage-loss or abnormal-state alarm interfaces.
-
Clear local indication: front-panel status indication helps commissioning and maintenance personnel verify active switching states and circuit conditions at the panel.
-
Integrated secondary-circuit logic: consolidates switching and repeat functions that would otherwise be implemented with multiple discrete auxiliary relays, reducing wiring complexity and schematic variation.
-
Application coverage: suitable for protection panels, bay-control / measurement panels, synchronizing circuits, metering circuits, dual-busbar substations, sectionalized busbars, and selected 3/2-bus PT transfer schemes.
-
Maintainable modular architecture: selected GRUS platform configurations are designed for clear terminal definition and device replacement / maintenance without unnecessary rewiring of the external circuit.
Customer Value
Reduce PT-source selection errors and secondary-circuit complexity while making switching logic easier to standardize, verify, commission, and maintain.
-
Improve source-selection reliability by linking PT voltage transfer to actual isolator / disconnector position instead of relying on manual selection or loosely coordinated discrete relay logic.
-
Reduce the risk of protection, measurement, synchronizing, or metering circuits receiving the wrong voltage reference after bus transfer or operating-mode changes.
-
Simplify schematic design and cabinet wiring by integrating voltage selection, repeat, paralleling, status indication, and alarm interfaces into purpose-built devices.
-
Standardize repeated projects: a defined PT switching platform makes drawings, terminal plans, FAT checks, commissioning logic, and future replacement more consistent across panels.
-
Improve maintainability through clearer front indications, dedicated status outputs, and well-defined functional boundaries between PT switching, PT supervision, and upper-level protection / automation logic.
-
Support different operating philosophies through single-position / double-position switching and separate repeat / paralleling product options rather than forcing one circuit architecture on every project.
-
Provide a practical upgrade path for legacy PT switching circuits where multiple intermediate relays and hardwired logic can be replaced by a more integrated, application-specific solution.
Product Series
Product series are configured according to users' usage and configuration preferences.
GRUS-11G
Dual-busbar PT / VT voltage switching relay
A dedicated dual-busbar voltage-selection relay that switches the PT / VT secondary source according to isolator-position logic. It supports single-position and double-position switching configurations, auxiliary state outputs, voltage-loss alarm interfaces, and clear front status indication.
RUS-11B(S) / RUS-12A
PT isolator-position repeat / auxiliary repeat relays
Repeat-relay configurations used to reproduce PT isolator / disconnector position and expand auxiliary contacts for secondary voltage-selection, indication, and interlocking circuits. Different variants are selected according to the required circuit logic and contact arrangement.
RUS-23A
PT paralleling / repeat relay
A PT secondary-circuit paralleling and repeat device used where voltage sources must be paralleled, transferred, or distributed through repeat outputs as part of a coordinated PT switching scheme. It can be combined with voltage-selection and position-repeat functions according to the project topology.
