GRUS Protection & Control Relay Platform
A standardized relay platform for critical power-system secondary circuits, covering PT/VT voltage switching, auxiliary-supply supervision, high-speed tripping, lockout retention, and trip-circuit supervision.
Product Capability
Covers the protection-and-control auxiliary functions most frequently required around relay panels and breaker trip circuits, while keeping product structure, panel integration, status indication, and maintenance philosophy standardized across the GRUS platform.
-
Five core secondary-circuit functions in one platform: GRUS-11G handles PT/VT voltage-source switching, GRUS-RTU supervises auxiliary/control power, GRUS-11H provides fast trip output, GRUS-11TA provides retained lockout, and GRUS-TCS supervises trip-circuit continuity.
-
Protection-trip performance options: GRUS-11H is available for high-speed trip duties, including Low Burden and High Burden configurations for different protection-output philosophies and long-cable interference conditions.
-
Controlled post-fault lockout: GRUS-11TA holds the trip/blocking state after protection operation until a defined reset is performed, with local and remote reset options available by configuration.
-
Continuous circuit readiness supervision: GRUS-TCS monitors the integrity of breaker trip circuits through breaker open and closed states and can alarm on open-circuit, coil-circuit, supply, or wiring abnormalities.
-
Auxiliary-supply supervision with anti-chatter behavior: GRUS-RTU supports AC/DC supply monitoring and delayed return logic to filter short voltage dips and reduce nuisance alarms.
-
PT/VT source-selection logic: GRUS-11G follows isolator/disconnector position signals to select the appropriate secondary voltage source in dual-busbar and related multi-PT schemes, with single-position and double-position logic options.
-
Standardized panel integration: the GRUS platform uses a consistent modular structure with front status indication, protective cover and identification area, supporting repeatable panel engineering and clearer field inspection.
-
Service-friendly replacement philosophy: the platform is designed so a module can be removed for inspection or replacement without rebuilding the existing field wiring, reducing maintenance disturbance to the surrounding circuit.
-
High-density cabinet arrangement: platform material specifies that up to eight units can be arranged side by side on a standard 19-inch 5U panel, supporting compact protection-and-control cabinet layouts.
-
Engineering-oriented terminals: platform terminal design supports two 2.5 mm² conductors, helping accommodate common secondary-circuit wiring practices and loop-through connections.
Customer Value
Standardizes critical secondary-circuit functions around protection and breaker control, helping EPCs, panel builders, utilities, and industrial users reduce design variation, improve fault visibility, simplify commissioning, and maintain clearer safety boundaries throughout the equipment lifecycle.
-
Reduce engineering fragmentation by selecting multiple protection-and-control auxiliary functions from one standardized relay platform instead of combining unrelated components with different mounting, indication, and maintenance philosophies.
-
Improve protection reliability by matching the relay function to the actual circuit task: fast trip for rapid breaker operation, lockout for retained blocking, supervision for hidden trip-circuit faults, supply monitoring for auxiliary-power abnormalities, and PT switching for correct voltage-source selection.
-
Reduce nuisance alarms and unwanted operations through application-specific delay, High Burden, anti-chatter, and fail-safe options where required by the project circuit.
-
Simplify FAT, SAT, troubleshooting, and O&M because operating status is visible locally and each module has a clear functional boundary within the secondary circuit.
-
Support international project documentation through available IEC-tested and CE-certified GRUS variants; the exact certification scope must be confirmed by model and order code.
-
Improve cabinet standardization and project replication through common mechanical philosophy, repeatable terminal planning, and high-density panel arrangement.
-
Reduce maintenance time by allowing module inspection or replacement with minimal disturbance to established field wiring and adjacent circuits.
-
Support both conventional and more demanding protection schemes with model-specific choices for circuit count, contact matrix, burden class, reset philosophy, alarm logic, and rated control voltage.
Product Series
Product series are configured according to users' usage and configuration preferences.
GRUS-11G
Dual-busbar PT / VT voltage switching
Selects the correct PT/VT secondary source according to isolator/disconnector position logic for protection, measurement, metering, synchronizing, and control circuits. Supports single-position and double-position switching philosophies, auxiliary status outputs, voltage-loss alarm interfaces, and front status indication.
GRUS-RTU
AC/DC auxiliary power-supply supervision
Monitors control and auxiliary power supplies for loss, undervoltage, or abnormal fluctuation. Dual independent supervision loops, delayed return, configurable alarm logic, and common AC/DC voltage versions help reduce nuisance alarms while keeping supply faults visible.
GRUS-11H
High-speed trip output
Fast auxiliary trip relay for protection outputs, breaker trip circuits, remote trip, intertrip, and contact multiplication. Low Burden and High Burden configurations are available, with single- or multi-circuit arrangements depending on project requirements.
GRUS-11TA
Lockout / trip-hold relay
Maintains a trip or blocking state after protection operation until reset, helping prevent unintended reclosing and preserve post-fault operating discipline. Supports local/remote reset, flexible contact matrices, and High Burden configurations.
GRUS-TCS10 / GRUS-TCS30
Trip circuit supervision
Continuously supervises breaker trip-circuit integrity in both breaker open and closed states. TCS10 is used for grouped supervision and TCS30 for per-phase supervision, with selectable alarm-contact logic and delayed return to avoid transient nuisance alarms.
