Manual Synchronizing Devices
Digital manual synchronizing devices for generator, busbar, and breaker-closing applications, combining voltage / frequency measurement, synchronization visualization, and synchronism-check permissive logic in a modular and engineering-oriented architecture.
Product Capability
A modular manual-synchronizing platform that combines dual-side voltage / frequency measurement, digital synchronization visualization, and independent synchro-check permissive logic for controlled breaker closing.
-
Dual-side electrical monitoring: WTM10 digital voltage-frequency meters provide clear local measurement of voltage and frequency on the two sides of the synchronizing point.
-
Visual synchronization guidance: WTM30 provides a digital synchronizing display for comparing the two systems, including voltage difference, frequency difference, and relative phase condition during the approach to synchronism.
-
Synchronism-check permissive logic: WT Series synchro-check relays evaluate the configured voltage, frequency, and phase-angle conditions and issue a closing-permission output only when the synchronization criteria are satisfied.
-
Modular or integrated application: the manual synchronizing function can be built from separate WTM10, WTM30, and WT modules, allowing users to configure the panel according to operating habits, cabinet layout, and project philosophy.
-
Reduced dependence on mechanical synchronoscopes: digital indication improves readability and avoids the fragility, inconsistent accuracy, and maintenance issues associated with traditional moving-pointer synchronizing meters.
-
Adaptable synchronization logic: ODES synchronizing solutions support project-specific rated-value and phase-shift adaptation, helping accommodate different PT ratios, wiring arrangements, generator systems, and busbar schemes.
-
Special closing supervision on applicable WT variants: the WT-32 functional variant supports a dedicated dead-bus / dead-line closing mode in addition to normal synchronism-check operation.
-
Protection-oriented engineering: the synchronism-check function is intended for breaker permissive circuits in power-system environments where deterministic logic, anti-interference performance, and clear commissioning boundaries are required.
-
Broad application coverage: suitable for generator grid connection, bus coupler / bus-section closing, utility and industrial power plants, marine power systems, captive generation, microgrids, and other manually synchronized breaker applications.
Customer Value
Make manual synchronization safer, clearer, easier to wire, and easier to commission while retaining the familiar operating workflow used by power-plant and utility engineers.
-
Safer closing decisions: operators receive clear voltage, frequency, and phase information while the synchro-check relay provides an independent permissive boundary before breaker closing.
-
Easier panel operation: digital displays present the key synchronization quantities directly, reducing reliance on visual interpretation of multiple mechanical meters and simplifying the operator workflow.
-
Cleaner engineering architecture: the WTM10 + WTM30 + WT functional split creates a repeatable manual synchronizing scheme with clear responsibilities for measurement, visualization, and closing permission.
-
Lower commissioning complexity: consistent digital indication, configurable thresholds, and project-specific phase / rated-value adaptation reduce the need for improvised compensation and repeated field adjustment.
-
Better maintainability: modular devices can be tested, replaced, and troubleshot by function, helping maintenance teams isolate whether an issue is related to measurement, synchronizing indication, or permissive logic.
-
Flexible project standardization: panel builders can retain a familiar manual synchronization operating philosophy while standardizing device layout, wiring logic, documentation, FAT checks, and spare-parts planning.
-
Scalable upgrade path: conventional modular schemes can coexist with newer integrated ODES manual-synchronizing platforms where a project requires fewer discrete devices and a more consolidated hardware architecture.
Product Series
Product series are configured according to users' usage and configuration preferences.
WTM10 Series
Digital voltage & frequency meter
A panel-mounted digital meter used to monitor the voltage and frequency on one side of the synchronizing point. A conventional ODES manual synchronizing scheme uses two WTM10 units so operators can compare the system side and incoming / generator side simultaneously.
WTM30 Series
Digital synchronizing meter / synchronoscope
Provides a dedicated digital view of the synchronization relationship between the two sides. ODES material identifies voltage difference, frequency difference, and phase relationship as the key displayed synchronization quantities, helping the operator judge the approach to synchronism.
WT Series
Synchronism-check relay (current webpage: WT-31AA; related variant: WT-32)
Provides breaker closing permission only when the configured synchronization conditions are satisfied. WT-32 adds a selectable dead-bus / dead-line supervision mode for special closing conditions; model-specific functionality should be confirmed from the latest manual.
